The exhibition evolves around ‘the table’.
Israeli art has produced many tables, representation of tables and actual tables.
The table bears the symbols of abundance and lack, family and absence, Judaism and Israeliness, exile and local, and many other values.
However, this exhibition does not review the chronology of the table and its significance in local art, as it deals with the dialectic of two of the table’s position: the Set Table ( Shulchan Aruch) and the table upside down, and the meanings derived from them.
